Brandy Walker, LMFT

Therapist & Sound healing practitioner

Many people come to therapy because something feels off, even when they can’t quite explain why. Maybe you're at the beginning of your journey and wanting help making sense of your experiences for the first time and are seeking a better understanding of yourself. Maybe you have spent time reflecting and processing and have an understanding of your story, yet still feel overwhelmed, overextended, disconnected, or stuck. While insight is important it is sometimes not sufficient on its own. When pushing through no longer works, your system may be asking for a different kind of support. Therapy with me supports both understanding and the nervous system, so safety is not just something you make sense of, but something you begin to feel.

My work is open to adults from many walks of life and often resonates with professionals, caregivers, creatives, and high achievers. Many of the people I work with are used to prioritizing others or their work and have lost touch with how to make space for themselves. I also support people whose difficulty with emotion regulation affects their daily life.

While I do not offer couples/family therapy, I love to support people in gaining a better understanding of how they show up in relationships. We focus on building healthier patterns and making healthier relational choices. My approach integrates talk therapy and mind–body practices grounded in the understanding that healing often involves both mind and body.

Whether you are just starting therapy or continuing, I would love to support you on your journey. Sessions with me are collaborative, intentional, solution-focused, and shaped around what feels most supportive for you and your goals.

Therapy for Adults Who Are Burnt Out, Anxious, Depressed, or Disconnected

  • I moved to Nashville from Michigan and decided to call it home after finishing college. My passion for helping people through life’s challenges, along with my own personal journey in therapy, inspired me to earn a master’s degree in marital and family therapy from Trevecca Nazarene University. Having navigated my own experiences with grief and other life challenges, I bring both professional expertise and personal understanding into the therapy room.

Outside of my work, I love spending time with loved ones, catching a good psychological thriller or reality TV show, playing games, and hosting karaoke nights.

  • I specialize in supporting individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and relationship challenges—whether in partnerships, friendships, or the way you see yourself. In our work together, we will focus on building emotional awareness, deepening mindfulness and presence, and creating healthier ways of coping. I also enjoy integrating sound, mind, and body healing techniques to help clients move toward a deeper sense of balance and well-being.

  • cen·tered(adjective)

    1. Emotionally and mentally balanced; calm, grounded, and self-aware.

    2. Positioned in a state of stability, clarity, or alignment.

    3. Having a central focus; directed toward what is most important.

Being centered helps create a sense of safety in the body and mind, which is especially important for those healing from trauma. Trauma can leave us feeling scattered, on edge, or disconnected from ourselves. Centering practices—like slowing the breath, grounding through the senses, or reconnecting to the present moment—support the nervous system in calming down.

When we are centered, we’re better able to notice what’s happening inside us without becoming overwhelmed. This makes it easier to process emotions, respond rather than react, and feel more in control. Over time, returning to a centered state builds resilience and allows space for healing to take root.
